The centerpiece of this configuration is the 7.5" 8.6 Blackout barrel, manufactured from certified 4150 CMV-S steel and featuring a fast 1:3 twist rate, pistol-length gas system, .875" gas-block journal, and LR-308/DPMS-compatible barrel extension.
The 8.6 Blackout (8.6 BLK) cartridge was developed around the larger AR-10/LR-308 platform and is known for its unusually fast barrel twist rates.
This upper kit pairs the 8.6 Blackout chambering with a compact 7.5" barrel and DPMS-compatible components.
This kit features a 7.5" 8.6 Blackout barrel manufactured from certified 4150 CMV-S steel.
The barrel uses an aggressive 1:3 twist rate and features button-cut rifling, an 11-degree target crown, pistol-length gas system, and an .875" gas-block journal.
An LR-308 barrel extension provides compatibility with the DPMS-pattern platform used throughout the upper kit.

The upper features an ABC Rifle Company 7" M-LOK Flat-Face Handguard with low-profile top Picatinny rail sections and a Class III anodized finish.
Its free-floating design provides a compact handguard configuration while the M-LOK interface provides mounting locations for compatible accessories.
The kit uses a Gorilla Machining AR-10/LR-308 upper receiver manufactured from 7075-T6 aluminum.
The receiver is precision machined and configured for the DPMS-pattern AR-10/LR-308 platform.
The 7.5" barrel operates with a pistol-length gas system. Because the 8.6 Blackout barrel uses a larger journal than the previous .308 configuration, this kit uses an .875" low-profile gas block rather than the .750" gas block listed with the original Bumper upper.

The 8.6 Blackout barrel uses an M18 x 1.5 muzzle thread.
Because of this change, the original .308 5/8x24 A2 flash hider from the Bumper configuration should not be listed with this kit unless you are using an appropriate M18 x 1.5 muzzle device or adapter.

The Gorilla Machining 7.5" 8.6 Blackout Upper Receiver Kit takes the compact configuration of our previous 7.5" AR-10 upper and brings it to the 8.6 Blackout platform.
The combination of a 7.5" 4150 CMV-S barrel, 1:3 twist rate, pistol-length gas system, DPMS-compatible upper receiver, and compact 7" M-LOK handguard creates a distinctive AR-10/LR-308 upper configuration.
The 7075-T6 aluminum upper receiver provides a durable foundation, while the free-floating 7" M-LOK handguard keeps the overall package compact and provides attachment locations for compatible accessories.
With its LR-308/DPMS-compatible barrel extension, this upper remains based around the widely used DPMS-pattern AR-10/LR-308 architecture.
Bolt carrier group and charging handle are not included.
